We set out to build the Schmidty Arcades because the alternatives were just way too expensive! Surely, a couple of aerospace and defense guys could bring something to market that’s cheaper, and maybe even better.

Research and development over the next 18 months was our passion. We dove deep into everything. Everything from how we wanted to software to work, what the user interface looked like, material, size, shape, number of players, size and type of speakers, amplifier, screen size, buttons, hardware… you name it.

We mocked it all up until it was perfect! It wasn’t until the 3rd prototype that we were truly satisfied. The Schmidty Arcade was born. Clearly a play on words, we believe we could call it that because it’s everything but sh#&ty.
If you are curious about the game selection, you can see a demo video back on the home page, near the bottom. It’s just under “User Interface.” What we can tell you is that the current model has just under 5,000 games. Now, that does sound like a lot, but you can save your favorites to a favorites section. We have around 40 of the greatest hits already saved in favorites for you. At any time someone remembers “that one game” they used to love, you can find it and add it to the favorites. The user interface is truly next level.

How does it mount to the wall?
The answer to that is a simple French Cleat. Two screws (we provide) screw into an 18″ wide wall mount. The arcade is then hung onto the wall mount. You can slide it some to the left and right to get the perfect placement. Super simple.

What about the build quality?
Take a look under the hood and decide for yourself.

What if one of the controls breaks?
We offer a free 1-year warranty and an additional 3-year warranty if desired. Every component of the arcade is easily replaceable. If the joystick dies, open the panel, remove 4 screws, unplug it, and reverse the steps to install a new one. The buttons are even easier. The monitor can be replaced as well. The computer, amplifier, speakers…. yup, those too. Most things are commercially available. They will continue to be manufactured, and we’ll continue to support replacement parts, even after the warranty.
